Arlene commenced her career as a registered mental health nurse (RMN) in the UK in 2005 after registering with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in 2004. Her first year as an RMN was spent working as a staff nurse on a psychiatric ward in Trinidad & Tobago before migrating to the UK in 2005. She is a British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) accredited therapist and supervisor, with close to two decades of experience delivering NICE-recommended psychological treatments across NHS Talking Therapies and private health services.
Her career as an RMN spans primary care and access services, secondary care and urgent care services, through to a forensic specialist women's service. She has also held senior leadership roles across both the NHS and private health sectors.
Arlene holds an Associate of Science degree in Psychiatric Nursing and a Postgraduate Certificate in Addiction Studies. She is committed to providing safe, effective and accessible psychological therapies for individuals aged 13 years onwards.
She is currently Clinical Lead for an NHS partner private sector psychological service.
Clinical Supervision. AAP Psychological Therapies provides clinical supervision for BABCP accredited therapists. This professional service is tailored to each therapist's individual learning and development needs, drawing on Arlene's experience as a BABCP accredited supervisor and her ongoing engagement with the BABCP Special Interest Group (SIG).
