Psychological Therapies

CBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, delivered by a BABCP accredited therapist and matched carefully to your individual needs — not a fixed protocol.

What Is It?

Therapy matched to you, not the other way round.

Psychological Therapies are structured, evidence-based sessions of ongoing support — drawing on CBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Rather than applying a single fixed method, the approach is chosen — and adjusted — around your circumstances, your history, and what you're hoping to change.

Every session is delivered personally by Arlene Alexander-Price — an NMC registered mental health nurse since 2004 and a BABCP accredited therapist of close to two decades' standing — in a calm, confidential space that respects your pace throughout.

How We Work

Our Therapeutic Approaches

Four evidence-based modalities, chosen to fit the person — not the other way round.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Identifies the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviour, and builds practical tools to shift unhelpful patterns.

TFT

Trauma-Focused Therapy

A structured, paced approach to processing traumatic memories safely, at a pace that feels manageable.

CFT

Compassion Focused Therapy

Helps quieten self-criticism and shame by building a kinder, steadier relationship with yourself.

ACT

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Supports living well alongside difficult thoughts and feelings — especially valuable for long-term conditions.

How It Works

The Therapy Journey

Six steps, from first enquiry to completing therapy with a clear plan for the future — each one designed to keep things simple and transparent, so you always know what happens next.

From your first message through to your final session, every step is carried out personally, at a pace that respects where you are.

Step 1

Get in Touch

Self-refer using the consultation form, or ask your GP to refer you. Either route is welcome.

Step 2

Initial Consultation

A first conversation to understand your difficulties and confirm the right therapeutic approach for you.

Step 3

Agree a Treatment Plan

We'll agree a modality, format — in-person or virtual — and a rhythm of sessions that fits your life.

Step 4

Begin Regular Sessions

Focused, up to 60-minute sessions, building the tools and understanding needed to make real change.

Step 5

Review Progress Together

Regular check-ins to reflect on progress and adjust the approach as your needs evolve.

Step 6

Complete, With a Plan Ahead

Therapy ends with a clear sense of progress made and the tools to sustain it going forward.
